A holiday reminder

A lot of folks want to help our neighbors on Christmas Day and this usually means lots of food that's given away, often heaping plates of deliciousness.

Every year, we believe that folks have the best intentions but often these meals do not get eaten by our neighbors because folks do not communicate that they have food for folks and just drop it on the ground.

We want to offer a friendly reminder to talk to your neighbors when offering them a warm meal and please do not place food on the ground unless someone tells you to leave it. Include utensils with your meals and napkins so that folks can eat the food that you're offering.

We also want to remind folks that everyone has the right to autonomy and that means that folks have the right to turn down your offering. They may not like what your meal is or maybe they just got done eating.

Thanks for being mindful this holiday weekend and for taking care of one another.
