Radical Free Market
Madalena is here back at it again to host the September Radical Free Market! one of my favorite events in this community. So of course I signed up to keep it going another month. Once again we will be at River Road Community Park! We will be set up under the shelter (on tables or blankets) on Sunday September 24th, from 12-3pm. Masks will be required (and available for those who need one) while not eating at the Radical Free Market.
The Radical Free Market is an outdoor market where everything is free! Folks bring their clean and gently used items to the market, set them up and the items are for anyone that can use them. When the market is over, you take your goodies back with you that weren't scooped up by the community. The Radical Free Market is not a drop site.
We also like to offer a meal at the Radical Free Market and if you're interested in cooking something for the market (or bringing pizza!), please let us know. Our plan, assuming enough volunteers sign up to bring meals (the link to signup is/will be in our bio!), is to have a meal arrive every 30 minutes throughout the market. A current food handler's card is needed and volunteers are welcome to make a homemade dish (for example: 20 sandwiches or quesadillas, a soup, casserole, etc) or have (prepaid) pizza delivered to the market! Please visit our sign up page to help with the free meal by clicking the link radical free market meal sign up link
Even if you don't have anything to give away at the Radical Free Market, you are still invited to come and hang out, be in community, and see what the community has to offer. Please send us an email at freefridgesalem@gmail.com if you have any questions about the Radical Free Market!
