Hot temperature reminders

Just a friendly reminder to all our pantry and fridge host and all those that do direct aid and supply the fridges and pantries that on days when local temperatures are scheduled to reach 90 degrees that we are pulling all canned foods from the pantries the night before or the morning of the hot day.

Canned food can spoil and sometimes explode in high temperatures and although most of the foods we offer don’t stay on the shelves long enough, we want to make sure we are offering great care.

We are asking all of our pantry parents and fridge fosters to pull those canned foods from your shelves and if you need assistance with that, please reach out to us.

This is a reminder to please also watch the temperature in the fridges during the hot weather. If your fridges can’t maintain a cool temp, then please remove all perishable foods and stick with fluids.

Thanks for taking care of one another.
